Soft Lenses
Almost all soft lenses used today are either monthly disposable or daily disposable. Both options provide ease of wear, convenience and comfort. They are now available in a wide range of prescriptions.
Monthly Disposable Contact Lenses
These lenses are worn daily for 4 weeks and then replaced with a new pair. This regular replacement minimises the build up of deposits on the lenses, ensuring comfort and good vision for the month of wear.
The latest and arguably the best monthly lenses are made from silicon hydrogel material. These lenses are extremely 'breathable', allowing the front surface of the eye to receive 6 times more oxygen than it would with a conventional disposable lens.
Silicon hydrogel contact lenses have been an outstanding success with both new wearers and existing wearers who have changed over to this material. As the power range has increased , silicon hydrogel lenses have become our monthly lens of choice ensuring that we are continuing to provide the best material to deliver optimum comfort and to maintain the health of the eye.
The increasing power range has extended to prescriptions to correct astigmatism. The development of toric soft lenses for astigmatism provides crisp, sharp vision which is comparable to spectacles.
Multifocal lenses
As we get older, it is more difficult for the eye to focus on near objects. Typically, by the age of 50, there is often a need for a separate distance and reading prescription. Contact lenses are now available in multifocal form to correct vision for distance and near in one pair of lenses. Proclear Multifocals have a unique system using two different yet complimentary lenses that work together to give clear vision for near, intermittent and distance.
Daily disposable lenses
This group of lenses represent the ultimate in convenience .They are a great option for those who play sport, wish contact lenses for occasional social events or want to wear lenses full time without a nightly cleaning regime.
Contact lens comfort is intimately linked to how well the lens remains moist in the eye. The latest in the range of daily contact lens materials to address this issue is TruEye. This is the first silicone hydrogel daily contact lens which will bring the proven success of this material from the monthly disposable market to the daily contact lens wearer.
